TWO HOURS

TO HAVANA

Pan American Airways Film, "Two Hours to Havana."

"Two Hours to Havana"
Black & White, Silent, c. 1929 from John C. Leslie film collection. Donated to PAHF in 2011 by Peter Leslie.

This short film was likely made around the same time John C. Leslie joined Pan American in 1929. It's very appropriate, too, as our copy came from his personal film collection, donated to Pan Am Historical Foundation by his son Peter, who was a director of the foundation.

The film shows scenes from a trip on a Fokker F-10 on its way from the then-brand-new Pan American Field in Miami -- America's first purpose-built international airport. Beyond Miami lay the isles of the Caribbean, some of which we catch a glimpse of in this brief travelogue, made almost a century ago.
