TThis beautiful sequence of color 16mm film, donated to the Pan Am Historical Foundation by the Strong Family, and shot while they were on vacation in Miami, captures some of the dynamic goings-on one sunny afternoon at Pan Am's famous Dinner Key Marine Base in 1939. Rare color footage of Sikorsky S-40s and S-42s, along with crowds of onlookers catching a glimpse of the magnificent "boats," and Pan Am's beautiful Art Deco terminal building, make for an intriguing glimpse of the flying boat era.
